A ceremonial sod-turning marked the start of construction for the Copper Sky Lodge, by Choices in Community Living. The 132 suite seniors project in Spruce Grove is located just north of highway 16, near Campsite Road at 300 McLaughlin Drive. Construction of this more than $28 million project is expected to be completed in April 2012, with the opening scheduled for May 2012.
Honourable Mary Anne Jablonski, Minister of Seniors and Community Supports, along with Honourable Doug Horner, Minster of Advanced Education and Technology and MLA for Spruce Grove – St. Albert present a ceremonial shovel to Phil Gaudet, President of Choices in Community Living, and Nicole Gaudet, Director of Operations, Choices in Community Living.
